Microsoft Dynamics AX (current version: 2009, previously: 4.0, or Microsoft Business Solutions - Axapta) is an ERP II system dedicated to big and medium-sized companies that require systems to be adapted in a precise way to their specific internal processes. Microsoft Dynamics AX contains an expanded set of modules that supports enterprise management and a complete set of tools which enables smooth integration with the IT environment of the company and its business milieu, as well as cost-effective development of the system which companies can effect on their own.

Some of the basic advantages of the use of the Microsoft Dynamics AX technology are:

  • integration and centralization of business processes of the company,
  • effective support for management processes at the strategic and operating level,

Integration of the system with solutions that are commonly used in companies, i.e. Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, or Word, allows to efficiently make use of mechanisms that are already in place in the company. The interface of the system Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 has been designed so as to resemble the interface of the package Microsoft Office 2007, which is very popular with users. Pre-defined management dashboards
Any company’s success depends on work of many people, therefore it is important that they can use efficient, intuitive and reliable tools that guarantee access to information. To make that possible, over 30 roles occurring in organizations have been defined - their needs with respect to access to information, form of its presentation and process mapping turned out to be similar. Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 is a response to the requirements of all persons who, regardless of their formal position, take business decisions in the area of manufacturing, logistics, finance, HR, sales, marketing, or the management of the entire company.

User-friendly interface
The system Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 is the world’s first ERPII solution to contain a set of prepared interfaces for over 30 types of roles fulfilled by employees in enterprises. Each of the prepared roles contains a set of reports, graphs and performance ratios tailored to the specific information requirements of users fulfilling some specified function. The information panel is available from the application level or from the level of Web browser. The interface of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 has been designed so as to resemble the interface of the package Microsoft Office 2007. The address bar which allows to quickly change the place of work, as well as the history of browsing, considerably facilitate navigation in the system.

Workflow management in the company
The management of the flow of documents and the monitoring of advancement of individual processes in the company is an important component of the ERP system, one that is required in the contemporary business world. Together with the system Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, a flexible tool which allows to define the flow of information in the company is delivered. That mechanism allows to specify the target group, the rules for approval, escalation to the manager or automatic action taken by the system after some specific amount of time has elapsed. It is possible to monitor the status of any document in the system on an ongoing basis. Owing to that, the work efficiency increases, operating costs go down, and the risk of losing or delaying of a document or transaction is minimized.

Multi-branch nature
In the system Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, branches of one business entity are reflected as separate information areas. The manager has at his disposal a set of tools and ready-made wide-ranging analyses of the whole enterprise and its individual branches, whereas employees of the organizational units see just the results of their own organization. Each of the branches can function according to its own settings or ones that have been defined by order of superior authority as part of the company’s policy.

Business analyses and reporting
In the present-day reality, the decision-making process cannot take too long. Access to up-to-date, reliable and coherent data allows managers to take the right decisions, adjust the company’s strategy and respond in a flexible way to the rapidly changing market conditions. Microsoft Dynamics AX provides for standard and ad hoc reporting as well as analytical reports thanks to Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.

Multi-dimensional data boxes were prepared already in the standard version and they were adjusted with the 30 types of roles in mind. The Key Performance Indicators are available in the form of a portal table of results. Every user, by creating his own indicators, is able to monitor the information that is vital specifically for them.

Necessary supplement
Bonair SA is the producer of the Payroll module which encompasses in the system Microsoft Dynamics AX all of HR and payroll-related issues. The Forms module by Bonair SA, in turn, allows to print reports of the PIT, CIT, VAT kind etc., on official templates, and facilitates creation of analyses with the use of the following ratios: liquidity, turnover, debt, profitability, etc.
Bonair SA has also created the system CasePro, which enables effective management of the circulation of documents (e.g. orders, invoices, questionnaires, complaints, holiday leave applications, etc.) and handling of various kinds of cases (e.g. payment order, hiring of an employee, granting of rights to him, communicating of an emergency alert, carrying out of a marketing campaign, etc.) in companies and institutions. The solution can effectively support and functionally expand the existing solutions, such as Microsoft Dynamics AX.
